Read it so fast， I couldn’t even log it on here。 Jennifer Lynn Barnes。 If there’s one thing this author can do， it’s write a page turning book。 Book One AND Book Two had me never putting it down once I started。 I was literally late to work the last two days because I couldn’t stop reading in time to leave。 Sad， but true。 Avery， my love。 What a journey。 Bro， every time they kept going back and forth with her biological father， I got so lost haha。 Had to wait for them to spell it out for me for re Read it so fast， I couldn’t even log it on here。 Jennifer Lynn Barnes。 If there’s one thing this author can do， it’s write a page turning book。 Book One AND Book Two had me never putting it down once I started。 I was literally late to work the last two days because I couldn’t stop reading in time to leave。 Sad， but true。 Avery， my love。 What a journey。 Bro， every time they kept going back and forth with her biological father， I got so lost haha。 Had to wait for them to spell it out for me for real。 Um？ She clearly chose a boy by the end， so I’m confused on why the internet finds there to be a debate about which one she’s gonna end up with？ I can’t imagine how 180 we would have to go to switch brothers at this point。 I enjoyed both equally， but it was obvious which one she was going to pick。 Hate love triangles， but I didn’t mind it so much in this。 Plot was interesting， kept me wanting to know what was next。 Each character is interesting and mostly fleshed out （besides， I would argue， Max。 Probably could’ve done without her in the book）。 It seemed like the author was going to end this on a duology for some reason， and planned it as so。 So I can’t imagine what this third book is going to have。 Anyway， I’ll probably get to that after a buddy read I’m starting tomorrow。 。。。more

THIS WAS JUST INCREDIBLE。 The plot twists？ The things we discover？ THE TENSION？？？？ like i love both grayson and jameson…BUT IM TEAM JAMESON。 LIKE THAT ENDING？？？ Ugh omg。 I loved this one so much because there was so much character development for every character。 I really enjoyed getting to find out stuff about averys family。 And somewhat closer to why she was chosen to get this inheritance。 EVERYTHING WAS JUST AMAZING。

As I （FINALLY） finish this book， a haunting thought that it might just have been ALMOST as good as the first surprises me， considering I’ve read some reviews that said otherwise。While I do get the criticism， that the book is kinda way too big， that it goes on circles of mystery that end up building it to not so satisfying reveals or that it choses to have the mystery put aside for the romance plots to be developed for like half of it， I have to say， it was fun！ Almost just as fun as the first on As I （FINALLY） finish this book， a haunting thought that it might just have been ALMOST as good as the first surprises me， considering I’ve read some reviews that said otherwise。While I do get the criticism， that the book is kinda way too big， that it goes on circles of mystery that end up building it to not so satisfying reveals or that it choses to have the mystery put aside for the romance plots to be developed for like half of it， I have to say， it was fun！ Almost just as fun as the first one， something that most writers can’t do so props to JLB。 The choice to develop almost every character but it’s main is definitely something I’ll have to deal while going into the third one， but I do like that some of the others got some more space， like Grambs and the Laughings。Trying to avoid spoilers here BUT I have to say my main criticism of this book is that it’s focus was supposed to be Toby Hawthorne， which sadly doesn’t pay off until the very last chapters。I’ll definitely read the last Hawthorne book soon， since it has already been published， my fingers are crossed that it has a satisfactory explanation for its existence （since the ending of this one feels ambiguous） while giving these characters a deserving end。PS: I get some people hated the romance subplot because it’s a mystery novel BUT COME ONE YOU GUYS？？？ JAMESON HAWTHORNE BEST BOY AWARD！！！！！ 。。。more

Had me guessing and wondering what the heck was going on and all my guesses were wrong。 Although it felt the villain came a bit out of left field， I can see the link enough that it didn’t feel like he was thrown in there for the sake of a plot twist。 Enjoyable read。

4。75！！ What a great sequel！ The only reason it’s not a full 5 stars is because the middle got pretty confusing with all the reveals of different family members and drama related to them。 But I throughly enjoyed this one and I still am rooting for Jameson。
